On March 21, 2021, Microgaming announced that its third-party studio collection would get a new member – Reno-based Gold Coin Studios. This game developer was launched in 2018 and currently boasts several new slots already in Microgaming. A day before the announcement, the studio, in partnership with Microgaming, released the Silver Seas, with upcoming blockbuster titles like Connectify Pays already in the pipeline.
Speaking after inking the deal with Microgaming, John Duffy, Gold Coin Studios’ CEO, said the studio is thrilled to become a member of Microgaming’s expansive studio list. He added that that company brings in a wealth of experience gained over the years working in the land-based casino industry. He concluded that the company already has a plethora of games lined up for Microgaming fans this year.
On their side, Andrew Booth, Microgaming’s Director of Games, said that Gold Coin Studios has already proven its worth since joining the platform. Furthermore, he said that the game developer is looking forward to seeing Gold Coin Studios become the number one studio on its roster. Going by these statements, online casino fans should expect some entertaining Microgaming titles going forward.
As said initially, Gold Coin Studios is still a relatively new mobile casino game developer. This studio and Microgaming announced their relationship last summer, giving Micrograming exclusive rights to its more than five slot titles.
The first online slot to be launched by the studio is Arthur’s Gold of July 2020. It’s a 5x3 video slot inspired by King Arthur’s adventures. The game teleports players to a medieval setting with immense riches.
After the success of this pioneering title, the Reno-based studio released three more games – Animals of Africa, Aquatic Treasures, and Bushi Sushi. All these titles went on to become fan-favorites on multiple mobile casinos powered by Microgaming.
The fifth and the latest video slot title from Gold Coin Studios is the pirate-themed Silver Seas, released on May 20, 2021. This 5x3 game is feature-packed, including Microgaming’s own jackpot meter called EpicStrike. To activate it, players must land three to nine Skull symbols. In doing that, you can win a multiplier up to 2,000x your initial stake.
In addition, the game features multiple free spins that players can activate by landing the pirate ship scatter symbol. Land three of these symbols and get a shot at the game for free. You can win up to 30 free spins, and the feature is re-triggerable.
In the meantime, this video slot features a gambler-friendly RTP rate of 96.24%. Also, the minimum and maximum bets are pretty favorable. The minimum players can spend on a single spin is $0.20, with a maximum of $120. Now multiply this by 2000x your initial stake, and you have a chance to be $240,000 richer.
As you may already know, Microgaming’s May releases feature a wonderful collection of progressive online slots. Most of these games are from contributing studios like SpinPlay, Triple Edge, and Alchemy. The month will also see big names like BTG present blockbuster titles like King of Cats, Ancient Fortunes: Poseidon Megaways, Risitas en Gangsters, and more.
Microgaming also introduced the re-designed Mega Moolah Goddess on May 13. In this Egyptian-themed video slot, players get a shot at the Mega Moolah jackpot wheel after landing three scatters. As usual, the record-shuttering jackpot has four pots – Mega, Major, Minor, and Mini, with the Mega pot seeding at $1 million. Overall, the year is shaping up nicely for Microgaming.
